Cheesy Eddie’s is a Rochester favorite that was opened by Eddie David back in 1976. John was a frequent customer starting in 1989 and got to know both Eddie and his sister Marjory. John developed a passion for Cheesy Eddie’s and everything they were doing and how well they did it! After 12 years and 3 different negotiations, John and his wife Colleen purchased the business from Marjory in 2003. Cheesy Eddie’s continues to be the hot spot for Carrot Cake, Cheesecake and many other delightful goodies!

    Cheesy Eddie’s is a scratch-made dessert bakery that specializes in cheesecake and carrot cake. They also handcraft a wide variety of other desserts. They focus on using all-natural ingredients in all of their desserts. Cheesy Eddie’s makes beautiful wedding cakes and also has a large number of local restaurants and stores that carry their products! They even ship their desserts nationwide!

    Recently they also opened their second location in Henrietta! Located behind Palmers Market, Cheesy Eddie’s expanded their delicious creations so that they can cater to the high demand. Have no fear, their original South Ave location is here to stay!

    Fun Fact about Cheesy Eddie’s – The last name of the current owners is Baker, they own a bakery and they even live on Sweet Corners Road! It’s almost like it was meant to be.


  • Compass Cycle and Flow, opened by two sisters Nicole and Ashley, first started as a rhythm riding cycling studio in Rochester 5 years ago. With the help of their dedicated team and loyal following, they have built a community that is welcome and supportive. They have even been able to expand their class offerings to include cycle, boot camps, and yoga classes!

  • Owners Ellen Brenner and David Boutillier (better known by everyone as Boots) opened their first Fleet Feet store in 2004. In the last 17 years, with the support of the community, they have been able to open 3 more stores in Greece, Victor and Buffalo.

    Fleet feet provides unparalleled expertise and service in the fitting of footwear, accessories and apparel for runners and walkers. In addition, Fleet Feet provides various training resources to keep people fit from training programs, group workouts and races!

    A fun fact about Fleet Feet – they sponsor most of the Rochester big races, including the Rochester 1/2 Marathon, the First Responders 5K, the Rochester XC Classic, the Annual Turkey Trot and so much more!

  • Roam Cafe is owned by Drew Nye, Marie Nye, and Maurice Kusminsky. Celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year, Roam continues to be grateful for the support of the Rochester community.

    Roam is a full-service restaurant and patio on Park Ave. They serve lunch and dinner seven days a week as well as brunch on Sundays! Rumor has it, the arancini are amazing!

    Fun fact about Roam – the building the restaurant is in, used to be a motorcycle shop! This very fact plays into how Roam got its name.

    Moonlight Creamery was founded in 2007 by two Fairport neighbors, Heidi Grenek and Jeff Seidel, who shared an interest in creating a “different” kind of ice cream shop – one where the experience was as amazing as the ice cream.   • Skip’s Meat Market in Fairport, owned by Steve Pink has had a presence in Fairport for over 15 years! Skip’s has been a household name for nearly 70 years with other locations in Rochester.

  • Scents by Design is a pour-your-own candle and custom fragrance bar located in the Neighborhood of the Arts in Rochester! They sell natural soy candles and premium fragrance products that are hand-made in their store each day. What makes them unique though is their custom fragrance experience! With over 100 distinct scents, customers can come into their shop and blend fragrance oils to make custom candles, wax melts, reed diffusers, aromatic sprays and more!

    Owner Christina Julian opened Scents by Design almost one year ago, in November of 2020! They recently started adding wine, beer and other refreshments to their shop and even partner with other local businesses to offer nights such as Yoga and Candle making!

  • Heroes Brewing Company is so much more than just a local brewery! Owned by Greg and Marlene Fagen along with Jerry Wheaton, they will celebrate their one year anniversary in December!

    They are a craft brewery in Rochester that feels deeply connected to the local community. Their purpose is twofold. First, they exist to celebrate the everyday heroes all around us. Second, for every beer they make, they partner with a different charity to share their message and mission with the Rochester community. They can every beer they launch and donate $1 for every 4 pack of packaged beer back to those charities.

    Fun Fact: In their first 6 months, they have donated to and supported the missions of over 20 different local charities!
